This site describes online conversations with the psychologist Frank for leaders in Slagelse and the surrounding area. The sessions are offered by djursland-psykologen.dk, and that is where you sign up.

What stays with you

As a leader you are expected to handle hard cases without losing your composure, and usually you can. Some cases stick, though. An employee is on sick leave with stress and you wonder whether you should have seen it sooner. The leadership team disagrees and the mood has turned personal. You have to dismiss someone you actually like.

You cannot take it to your staff, because they are part of the case. You cannot take it to the board without risking looking unsure. And at home you would rather not make your partner or children the shock absorber. So it stays inside you, in the car, in bed and over the morning coffee.

Questions and answers

Is this advice on my specific personnel case?

No. The sessions make room for you as a person in the leadership role, not for a legal or HR assessment of a case. Questions about rules and procedure belong with a lawyer or your HR department.

Do I have to name anyone?

No. You can talk about the case and what it does to you without saying who is involved. Everything you say is also covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality.

Does my GP find out?

No. Your GP is not informed, and neither are the municipality, your partner or spouse, or your workplace. The sessions are private, need no referral, and are covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality under Danish law.

Can the company pay?

Yes. Many people have the invoice paid by their company or employer, and you can pay yourself. See the practical page on the main site (in Danish).
